VEGETABLE OIL PRODUCTION PROCESS
Vegetable oils are expelled from wild plant seeds, using a traditional oil expeller and a thorough post filtration or purification process. Vegetable oils are the potential ingredients for cosmetics. In Nepal, these oils have been used mainly for cooking purposes.
Outlined below is the traditional processing method of Dhatelo Oil and Chiuri butter:
- Collect the fruits
- Squeeze the fruits
- Remove the pulps
- Clean the seeds
- Leave the seeds in the sun to dry
- Grade the seeds
- Crush and steam the seed flour
- Extract oil using modern oil expeller
- Filter and purify the oil
The final product of Dhatelo Oil is dark yellow fluid liquid.
The final product of Chiuri butter is white or yellowish white with a distinct smell and taste. Chiuri butter remains solid up to 48 degree centigrade.
