Cinnamomum tamala (Buch.-Ham.) Nees & Eberm.

Cinnamon oil is extracted by steam distillation of the fresh and dried leaves of Cinnamomum tamala (Buch.-Ham.) Nees & Eberm. responsibly harvested from the Himalayan forests of Nepal and from the cultivation.

Characteristics:

Appearance: A fluid liquid
Color: Pale yellow
Aroma: Characteristic of bay leaf

Active constituents:

α-Pinene, β-Pinene, Myrcene, α-Phellandrene, p-Cymene, Limonene, Eucalyptol, Linalool, α-Terpineol, E-Cinnamaldehyde, Bornyl acetate, E-Caryophyllene, E-Cinnamyl acetate and Caryophyllene oxide as major components

Uses:

◊ Used as a constituent for men’s soaps, colognes, cosmetics and hair tonics.
◊ Used in sauces, soups, stews and other food items.
◊ Used as an ingredient for personal care products for controlling dandruff, promoting hair growth.
◊ Used in aromatherapy for treating muscular aches, rheumatism, neuralgia and poor circulation.
